
Well, it's been several months since Transformers premiered in July, but I finally got a chance to see it. Well, kind of. I've been insanely busy with the web site and catching up on homework. I have several big assignments that will be due in the next week or two, so I spent the whole movie trying to work on my art and watching the movie out the corner of my eye.
I have to be honest, when I first heard about this movie, I was very skeptical. I wasn't a big fan of the cartoons and children's toys like the Transformers series (though I had fond memories from my youth). I had it in my mind that it would be more of a children's movie, so when it came out, I was pretty uninterested in it. When a couple of my friends asked me to go see it with them in the theatre, I turned them down.
So, like I said, I finally saw it on Sunday night. My sister had been in town and she and my mom had rented some DVDs, that being one of them. I heard a lot about it, so I decided to go ahead and watch it.
That was one of the best movies I have ever seen.
Yeah, I know it's still pretty nerdy and stuff, but I don't care. It was awesome.
One of the things that caught me off guard was that it wasn't nearly as childish and nerdy as I thought it would be. I was expecting it to have cheesy looking robots from the cartoons running around with no plot line. In the movie the robots looked really cool, and while it seemed like they had a hard time fitting all of the events into the time they had, the plot line was strong. The suspense was great, and there was a ton of action (giant robots blowing stuff up and fighting each other). And those robots were just damn cool.
So, now I'm converted. I have to confess, I've developed a
